414 Personnel Deployed in 14 Teams Across 4 Key Areas: Safety, Public Welfare Economy, Citizen Convenience, and Daily Stability
24-Hour Emergency Medical System Maintained During Holidays, Emergency Services at Nam and Buk-gu Public Health Centers
Pohang City has established a comprehensive holiday plan for Chuseok to ensure that citizens can enjoy a safe and happy holiday. The plan will be implemented for five days, from the 14th to the 18th.
Mayor Kangdeok Lee is urging all efforts to minimize citizen inconvenience during the Chuseok holiday at the expanded executive meeting held on the 6th.
The city has prepared four major measures: ▲Zero COVID-19! A safe holiday for citizens ▲A happy and prosperous holiday for everyone ▲A comfortable holiday without inconvenience for citizens ▲A warm and affectionate holiday. All efforts will be made so that citizens and visitors returning home can spend a comfortable holiday.
The city will operate a comprehensive Chuseok holiday situation room, disaster and emergency management teams, transportation and logistics teams, road management teams, cleaning and environmental monitoring teams, and a total of 14 function-specific situation rooms, deploying a total of 414 staff members to respond to emergencies.
In particular, to prevent any medical service gaps for citizens during the holiday, one-on-one dedicated supervisors will be assigned to five emergency medical institutions, maintaining a 24-hour medical care system.
Additionally, to alleviate overload at emergency medical institutions, four public health doctors will be deployed for emergency medical services at the Nam-gu and Buk-gu health centers from the 15th to the 18th.
Furthermore, 296 hospitals and clinics and 250 pharmacies will be designated and operated during the holiday, and in preparation for a potential resurgence of COVID-19, preemptive inspections of vulnerable facilities and an emergency quarantine response team will be in place.
From the beginning of this month until before the Chuseok holiday, the city will also inspect local prices and the status of price labeling, and boost the local economy through campaigns to encourage the use of traditional markets and special discount events for the Pohang Love Gift Certificate for Chuseok.
Major tourist attractions and multi-use facilities, such as Space Walk and Jukdo Market, which attract large crowds, as well as transportation facilities, will undergo preemptive safety inspections, and tourist information centers will be operated.
During the holiday, a transportation response team will be operated, maintaining a cooperative system with related organizations, receiving and handling traffic inconvenience reports, strictly supervising parking and stopping, and providing free parking at public parking lots to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The city will also conduct pre-inspections of unmanned civil service issuance machines and maintain emergency response systems for each shift, enabling prompt handling of civil complaints. In addition, inspections of water supply and sewage facilities and emergency water supply measures will be implemented to quickly address any inconveniences for citizens.
In addition, the city will organize an emergency response team for the management and operation of household waste during the Chuseok holiday, conduct intensive crackdowns in vulnerable areas, and focus on collection activities to minimize inconvenience caused by illegal waste disposal.
On the 16th and 18th, which fall during the Chuseok holiday, household and food waste will be collected as usual to reduce odor issues.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "Pohang City officials will do their utmost in their respective roles to ensure that citizens and visitors returning to their hometowns can spend a safe and comfortable holiday."
