Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Visits Welfare Facilities Ahead of Chuseok... Delivers Consolation Gifts

Gyeongbuk Provincial Council members Yoon Seungo and Lee Chunu visited 'Maya Jeongsin Nursing Home', 'Yeongcheon Disabled Welfare Center', and 'Yeongcheon Social Welfare Center' in Yeongcheon City on September 9, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, to deliver daily necessities and food items and offer their regards to local seniors.


This visit is part of a biannual initiative carried out every Lunar New Year and Chuseok by the two provincial council members from Yeongcheon to raise awareness for marginalized groups and foster a culture of neighborly love.

Yoon Seungo stated, "I am pleased to personally visit and greet the users of welfare facilities to ensure they are not left out during the holidays," while Lee Chunu shared, "Although the items are modest, I am grateful for the opportunity to practice neighborly love with the facility users."


Gyeongbuk Provincial Council members Kim Yonghyeon, Kim Ilsu, Heo Bok, and Hwang Duyeong visited the 'Pureun Kkumui Namu Community Child Center' and 'Nanum Community Child Center' in Gumi City on September 9 ahead of Chuseok, delivering gifts prepared by the council and encouraging the staff.


These two centers are social welfare facilities providing comprehensive child welfare services such as protection, education, and experiential learning for children in the local community, aiming to help children grow up in a more emotionally and culturally stable environment.


Kim Yonghyeon expressed, "I am grateful to the staff for their dedication in helping children grow up upright and happy," and added, "The council will also make more attentive efforts to improve the treatment of community child center workers and enhance child welfare."

Kim Ilsu stated, "I thank the staff who care for the children as if they were their own, even under difficult circumstances," and added, "We will spare no effort to support children so they can grow up properly with continued care and love."


Heo Bok also commented, "I deeply empathize with the lack of support for children in need of social care," and continued, "Although it's a small gesture, I hope it brings some comfort, and the council will maintain continuous interest to improve welfare."


Hwang Duyeong said, "I am grateful to the staff who strive to provide a safe and happy environment for children with a loving heart," and added, "We will continue to actively work at the council level to ensure children do not lose their dreams and hopes and become outstanding members of our society."


Gyeongbuk Provincial Council member Seo Seokyoung and council staff also visited 'Solbit Group Home' in Songdo-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang City on September 9 to encourage facility staff and deliver gifts prepared by the council.


Seo Seokyoung listened to the difficulties in facility operations and said, "I believe there are many challenges in running facilities due to rising prices and economic downturn," and continued, "I sincerely thank the social welfare facility staff and workers for their efforts, and I will continue to engage in active and responsible legislative activities to ensure our children grow up healthy and happy and that there are no welfare blind spots in the region."


Gyeongbuk Provincial Council members Do Giuk and Lee Hyungsik visited the Disabled Living Mobility Support Center in Yecheon-eup and the Rodem Community Child Center in Jibo-myeon, Yecheon County, respectively, to deliver gifts and encourage the staff in celebration of the traditional Chuseok holiday.

Do Giuk said, "I express my gratitude to the welfare facility staff who sincerely care for the residents despite unprecedented heatwaves and challenging economic conditions," and added, "The council will take the lead in supporting marginalized neighbors." Lee Hyungsik also expressed, "I sincerely thank the community child center staff for their dedication and commitment at the forefront of child care."


Gyeongbuk Provincial Council member Kim Daeil also visited Sarangbat Daycare Center and the Gyeongbuk Disabled Rehabilitation Association to deliver gifts and encourage the staff. Kim Daeil stated, "To ensure our neighbors can live together without major inconvenience or difficulty, practicing daily sharing and continuous interest are essential," and added, "The council will pay close attention to actively identifying and addressing welfare blind spots."
