Promotion of On-site Visit to Seoul International Garden Expo & Korea Garden Industry Expo
The Songpa-gu Residents' Autonomy Federation (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) promoted an on-site field trip to the Seoul International Garden Expo and the Korea Garden Industry Expo on September 3rd, providing an opportunity to enhance understanding of district administration and to foster communication and healing.
The Songpa-gu Residents' Autonomy Federation (President Jeong Yoon-jae) is a representative professional organization of Songpa-gu, composed of the heads of residents' autonomy committees from 27 neighborhoods, dedicated to promoting residents' harmony and regional development for the advancement of residents' autonomy.
In particular, the Songpa-gu Residents' Autonomy Federation plays an important role in communication administration by directly experiencing the field and actively connecting the vivid voices of residents with the administration.
The International Garden Expo, with its various concept gardens and landscapes, provides abundant inspiration for the 'Songpa-daero Premium Street Development Project,' a key project promoted by Songpa-gu. The federation voluntarily organized this visit to enhance understanding of the district's key projects and to build consensus among residents.
The Songpa-daero Premium Street Development Project is a project to transform Songpa-daero, the representative street of Songpa-gu, into a 'walkable garden,' restoring lost green spaces for residents. This aligns with Seoul City's vision of 'Garden City, Seoul.'
Especially, the 1.5 km section from Seokchon Lake, a representative attraction of Songpa-gu, to Garak Market Intersection will be promoted as the 'Songpa Avenue Project,' which will widen sidewalks through road reorganization and plant cherry trees, making it a more attractive tourist destination for visitors.
As of the end of August, according to the brand reputation analysis conducted by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute targeting 226 local governments nationwide, Songpa-gu ranked first nationwide, further enhancing the brand value of Songpa.
Jeong Yoon-jae, president of the Residents' Autonomy Federation who organized this field trip, said, “As the saying goes, seeing is believing. After personally visiting the International Garden Expo and experiencing the diverse charm of green spaces that gardens offer, I better understand why the Songpa-daero Premium Street Development Project is necessary for residents. I hope this project will help Songpa-gu become a richer and more livable district.”
