Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will hold the "2024 Seongbuk-gu Social Economy Festival," where residents and social economy organizations come together, on October 5th from 2 PM to 6 PM around the Baramdang area of Seongbuk-gu Office.
The annual "Social Economy Festival" is an event where local residents enjoy a lively atmosphere to understand the social economy of their region, experience various activities, and have fun together.
Under the slogan "Feast for All," this year's event will feature over 50 organizations including social enterprises and cooperatives within Seongbuk-gu, setting up various booths and offering diverse hands-on experiences. Additionally, cultural and artistic performances by performing teams are prepared to enhance the festival's excitement.
As a pre-campaign, a circular economy challenge, "Collecting Plastic Bottle Caps," is underway, and on the day of the event, a variety of programs such as the opening ceremony, one-day classes (including home gardening), and a children's flea market will be held.
Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, "Through this event, I hope it becomes an opportunity for residents to understand the value of the social economy and for the awareness of social economy to spread further through solidarity and cooperation among social economy organizations."
