LG Energy Solution announced that it participated in 'RE+ (Renewable Energy Plus) 2024,' the largest energy exhibition in North America, held over four days from the 9th to the 12th in Anaheim, California.

Under the theme 'Accelerate America’s Energy Transition,' LG Energy Solution showcased its latest energy storage system (ESS) products and technologies to key customers in the North American market.

Notably, this year the company exhibited an actual product of the container-type modular solution 'New Modularized Solutions (JF2 AC/DC LINK 5.1)' featuring a high-capacity LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) long cell 'JF2 cell' at the center of the exhibition hall, capturing visitors' attention.

Scheduled for local production in the U.S. starting in 2025, this product offers a choice between an AC type with a built-in power conversion system (PCS) and a DC type that allows customers to select a separate PCS. It is a modular product capable of delivering up to 5.1 MWh of energy by connecting a 3.4 MWh battery system with a 1.7 MWh battery system, enabling customized configurations according to user needs and applications.

Additionally, the installed JF2 cell has approximately 21% higher energy density compared to previous models and uses a liquid cooling system to ensure optimal system performance and safety. The product is delivered fully assembled to customers, significantly reducing installation time and costs, which is a distinctive competitive advantage.

LG Energy Solution also organized its exhibition booth into zones for ▲North American network ▲power grid ▲commercial ▲uninterruptible power supply (UPS) ▲residential, showcasing its core products.

In the North American network zone, the company introduced its plan to produce ESS LFP batteries in the U.S. next year, based on over 12 years of local battery production experience and technological expertise.

Furthermore, LG Energy Solution highlighted the achievements of its ESS system integration (SI) subsidiary Vertech since its establishment, emphasizing the localization of the entire supply chain from battery manufacturing to operation management and maintenance, demonstrating differentiated competitiveness in the North American market.

Founded in February 2022, Vertech is rapidly growing, currently executing projects totaling 11 GWh across North America. It provides customized integrated solutions including ESS supply, business planning, design, installation, and maintenance, leveraging deep expertise in the local market and supply chain.

In the commercial zone, LG Energy Solution presented commercial ESS products that help reduce electricity costs and provide emergency power in various environments such as schools and factories. Alongside, it introduced data operation software designed to operate battery systems stably and efficiently.

The company also exhibited UPS batteries, which have seen increasing demand recently. LG Energy Solution’s UPS batteries apply lithium-ion technology that significantly improves energy efficiency and lifespan compared to traditional lead-acid batteries, maximizing backup capacity while minimizing required space. They also feature high safety design and have passed the revised 'UL9540a' test standard by the global safety certification body UL Solutions.

In the residential zone, products such as 'enblock S+' were displayed. This product is an all-in-one solution integrating the modular NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese)-based 'enblock S' ESS battery, inverter, and automatic backup device. Through a smart monitoring and control app, it allows real-time monitoring of solar energy production and household energy consumption, and in case of power supply issues, the automatic backup device maintains power supply to the entire home.

Kim Hyung-sik, Executive Director of LG Energy Solution’s ESS Business Division, said, "Based on local production capabilities and technological leadership, we are fully committed to securing advanced market competitiveness in the North American market, which is expected to experience high growth. We will do our best to maximize customer value through a broad portfolio ranging from battery manufacturing of NCM and LFP to integrated solutions."
