Triple Foldable Phone 'Mate XT' Released
Price Around 3.8 Million KRW... Available in Two Colors
China's largest telecommunications equipment company, Huawei, is set to launch the world's first 'twice-folding' triple foldable smartphone. It has already garnered significant attention, with pre-orders exceeding 3 million units even before the official release day.
According to Chinese state media Global Times and other foreign outlets on the 10th, Huawei is expected to unveil the triple foldable phone, 'Mate XT,' on this day. Official sales are anticipated to begin on the 20th.
Huawei started accepting pre-orders through its official online store on the 7th, receiving over 190,000 orders in less than an hour. By 5 PM the previous day, the number of orders had surpassed 3 million.
The product revealed online resembles a tablet PC when unfolded. It will be available in two colors: red and black. Memory options include 512GB and 1TB, with an expected price of around 20,000 yuan (approximately 3.8 million KRW).
Despite U.S. sanctions in 2019, Huawei has consistently introduced advanced products, such as the 'Mate 60' series released last August, equipped with the high-performance 7-nanometer semiconductor 'Kirin 9000s' designed by its HiSilicon division.
According to IT media PhoneArena, Huawei ranked first in global foldable phone market share in the second quarter as well as the first quarter of this year, surpassing Samsung Electronics.
Samsung Electronics is preparing a counterattack by launching the 'Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim,' which is about 11mm thick?1mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold6?in South Korea next month. This product is expected to be released in China under the name 'Simgyecheonha W25.'
