Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 series, set to be released this fall, at its product launch event on the 10th, and photos of the actual iPhone 16 series have attracted attention. Netizens criticized the colors and other aspects, generally saying that "the design is worse than before."

On the 10th, photos of the actual iPhone 16 series spread mainly through online communities. Netizens particularly focused on the recently controversial "colors." Previously, a US IT media outlet harshly criticized the iPhone 16 colors, calling them "the worst iPhone colors I've ever seen." The outlet stated, "There was a rumor that Apple would add a bronze color to the lineup someday, but I never thought it would be this bad."

Netizens also showed lukewarm reactions to the actual photos of the color labeled "Desert Titanium," which the media called "the worst ever." Comments included, "Looks like a product from 10 years ago," "A miraculous color that makes the iPhone look tacky," and "Such a terrible gold." Other negative remarks followed, such as "Isn't the blue too bright?", "Looks like a delivery truck blue," "The iPhone Strawberry Milk Pink was really pretty, why did it turn out like this?", "I'll just keep using the iPhone 15," and "The design is not great either."

Meanwhile, Apple held a product launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino, California, showcasing the latest products including the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 series consists of the base model with a 6.1-inch (15.4 cm) display, Plus with 6.7-inch (17.0 cm), Pro with 6.3-inch (15.9 cm), and Pro Max with 6.9-inch (17.4 cm) displays. The base and Plus sizes remain the same as last year, while the Pro and Pro Max have larger displays. The bezels were reduced so the overall device size did not increase. For the first time, a "camera control button" was added to the side of the device. Pressing the button allows users to launch the camera, zoom in and out, and adjust exposure. The premium models are equipped with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 5x optical zoom telephoto camera.

The devices come with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, with prices remaining unchanged. The base iPhone model starts at $799 (128GB), Plus at $899 (128GB), Pro at $999 (128GB), and Pro Max at $1199 (256GB). Although there had been speculation about price increases, the prices were maintained at previous levels. The iPhone 16 series will be available for pre-order starting on the 13th in South Korea, the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, and more than 59 other countries. In-store purchases will be possible from the 20th of this month.
