Gwanak-gu Confirms 320 Million Won Budget for Carbon Neutrality Practice, Resident Health Promotion, and Public-Private Cooperation System Establishment

Gwanak-gu Cooperation Council on the 9th Selects 4 Tasks for 2025, Totaling Over 320 Million Won
Scheduled for Implementation from 2025 After Gwanak-gu Council Review in December

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) held the ‘2024 Gwanak-gu Cooperative Governance Council 2nd General Meeting’ on the 9th, with both the public and private sectors working together more than ever to fully commit to ‘communication, cooperation, and inclusion’ in district administration.


The Gwanak-gu Cooperative Governance Council is operated with a total of 40 members, including Mayor Park Jun-hee of Gwanak-gu, ▲10 administrative bureau chiefs ▲28 private appointed members ▲2 district council members, in accordance with the Basic Ordinance for the Activation of Public-Private Cooperation in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.


The council plays a role in deliberating and deciding on ▲the establishment and implementation of policies to activate public-private cooperation ▲improvements in overall district administration ▲system improvements and policy evaluations.


From April to August this year, the district received residents’ proposals related to next year’s district administration through public forums and online platforms, and through deliberation processes in subcommittee meetings and expanded subcommittee meetings, cooperative governance tasks for 2025 were identified.

At this meeting, the agenda was finally approved and decided upon by the members of the Gwanak-gu Cooperative Governance Council and the relevant officials from Gwanak-gu Office as the 2025 community cooperative governance tasks (draft).


The final selected cooperative governance tasks amount to about four projects with a budget of 320 million KRW, reflecting residents’ hopes for a sustainable community life living together amid various social changes.


The detailed projects include ▲‘Carbon Neutral JUMP! (Joyful, Useful, Massive, Practice) Everyone is a Gwanak Green Leader!’ as a resident carbon neutrality practice activity to jointly overcome the climate crisis ▲‘Establishment of a Resident-Centered Health Promotion Public-Private Cooperation System’ to shift the health paradigm from treatment-centered to prevention-centered ▲‘Neighborhood Comfort and Safety: PM (Personal Mobility) Management System Establishment Project’ to create a safety culture from personal mobility devices such as electric kickboards ▲and ‘Gwanak E-sports World Cup, Gwanak E-sports Tournament’ for branding Gwanak as a youth capital accessible to all.


The district expects that by promoting cooperative governance projects annually, it will encourage residents’ participation in district administration and contribute to realizing democratic values together between the public and private sectors.


Mayor Park Jun-hee of Gwanak-gu said, "Gwanak-gu practices district administration based on the spirit of grassroots democracy and fiscal democracy, where residents directly propose and public and private sectors realize together, focusing on ‘communication, cooperation, and inclusion.’ We will continue to make every effort through public-private cooperation to enable all residents to live happy lives."
