Asan City in Chungnam Province jointly conducted a mass casualty emergency response drill and a comprehensive emergency rescue training with the Asan Fire Station to prepare for disaster occurrences.
On the 10th, Asan City in Chungnam announced that it had conducted a mass casualty emergency response drill and a comprehensive emergency rescue exercise simultaneously in cooperation with the Asan Fire Station.
This drill was conducted under the scenario of a gas explosion of unknown cause on the first floor of the Guiturami Boiler factory in the city, resulting in building collapse, fire, and multiple casualties.
After the incident scenario, Asan City immediately set up and operated an on-site emergency medical station. The response was divided into three teams: triage, treatment, and transport, with training focused on rapid patient triage, emergency treatment according to severity, and dispersal and transport based on the capacity of each hospital.
An official from the Asan City Public Health Center stated, "Swift and systematic response is most important in the event of mass casualties," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our on-site emergency medical station operations and response capabilities through ongoing training, doing our utmost to protect citizens' lives and ensure their safety in the event of a disaster."
