Some Large Marts and Outlet Stores Open on Chuseok Day... Department Stores Closed

Online Mall, One Day Off Then Normal Delivery

This year, during the Chuseok holiday, large supermarkets and outlets will remain open on Chuseok day without any store closures, depending on the location. Most online malls will suspend delivery services for only one day during the Chuseok holiday period and operate normally otherwise. On the other hand, most department stores will be closed for two days, including Chuseok day.

According to the distribution industry on the 10th, among 131 Emart stores, 42 stores including Sanbon, Dongtan, and Namyangju will be closed on Chuseok day. The remaining stores will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Among 22 Traders warehouse discount stores, only 10 stores such as Gunpo, Anseong, and Hanam will be closed on Chuseok day.


Among 111 Lotte Mart stores, except for 28 stores including Cheongnyangni, Seocho, Ansan, and Jeju, the rest will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Chuseok day. Homeplus will close 20 stores including Kintex and Dongdaemun on Chuseok day out of 127 stores.


Outlets will open on Chuseok day for customers who stay in town and enjoy leisure during the holiday. All Shinsegae Outlet stores will open from noon on Chuseok day. Among 22 Lotte Outlet stores, 8 stores including Dongbusan, Gimhae, Icheon, and Paju will open from noon on Chuseok day. The remaining stores will be closed on Chuseok day. Hyundai Outlet and Connect Hyundai, which reopened after renovation on the 6th, will be closed on Chuseok day.

Department stores will be closed on Chuseok day or the following day. Lotte Department Store will close 29 stores including the main branch and Jamsil branch for two days on the day before Chuseok, the 16th, and Chuseok day, the 17th. Bundang and Centum City stores will be closed on Chuseok day and the following day, the 18th. Shopping malls such as Lotte World Mall and Suji, Gimpo Airport, Suwon, and Eunpyeong stores will operate normally without any closures. Only the Sanbon store will be closed for one day on Chuseok day.


Shinsegae Department Store’s Gangnam, Times Square, and Gyeonggi branches, among 11 stores, will be closed on the day before Chuseok and Chuseok day. The main branch will be closed on Chuseok day and the following day, the 18th, and the Hanam branch will be closed for one day on Chuseok day. Hyundai Department Store’s 10 stores including Trade Center, Cheonho, and Mokdong will be closed for two days from the day before Chuseok (16th?17th). Five stores including Apgujeong main branch, Sinchon, and Mia will be closed for two days starting on Chuseok day.


Online mall deliveries will continue during the holiday. Coupang will deliver as usual throughout the holiday. If you use Market Kurly’s Saetbyeol Delivery (early morning delivery), you can receive orders placed on the 16th even on Chuseok day. However, there will be no delivery on the 18th, so items ordered on Chuseok day will be delivered on the 19th. Deliveries to Jeju Island will be suspended for two days, the 17th and 18th. SSG.com will suspend delivery for one day on Chuseok day.
