Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) has taken swift action in collaboration with Jungnang Police Station and Jungnang Fire Station to prevent electric vehicle fires.


On the 9th, the district signed an agreement with Jungnang Police Station and Jungnang Fire Station to prevent and respond to electric vehicle fires. This comes as a response to the recent series of electric vehicle fires, which have caused growing social anxiety regarding electric vehicle charging fires and safety, aiming to alleviate residents' concerns and create a safe living environment.


This agreement aims to establish clear preventive measures and response procedures for electric vehicle fires to ensure a safe living environment for residents.


Through this agreement, Jungnang-gu Office, Jungnang Police Station, and Jungnang Fire Station will build a close cooperative system and continuously identify and promote improvement tasks for electric vehicle fire prevention.

The main contents of the agreement include ▲ joint inspections of fire extinguishing facilities in underground parking lots of apartment complexes and public facilities ▲ training and education on electric vehicle fire response measures ▲ support for the installation of electric vehicle-related safety facilities ▲ traffic control to maintain order in case of electric vehicle fires.


The district and the fire station plan to establish a comprehensive fire prevention plan based on the government-level comprehensive measures for electric vehicles and conduct joint training and education for safety managers of apartment complexes and public facilities.


Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “This agreement is very meaningful as it helps alleviate residents' concerns about electric vehicle fires and guarantees a safe residential environment,” adding, “We will continue to prioritize the safety of residents and work closely with related institutions to ensure thorough prevention and response to electric vehicle fires.”
