Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Division, announced on the 10th that the research paper on its newly developed rose variety 'Perfume Everscape' has been published in the prestigious SCIE-level journal Chemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture.

Everland conducted research with global cosmetics ODM company COSMAX to verify the anti-photoaging and antioxidant effects of the newly developed rose variety. The paper was published after experiments and verification by researchers from Kyung Hee University and Konkuk University. Roses are natural antioxidants that help strengthen skin cells and regenerate tissues. They are used as ingredients in cosmetics and health foods.

Everland began research based on the assumption that the newly developed rose varieties with excellent disease and pest resistance would have anti-photoaging and antioxidant effects. Among the new varieties, extracts from Perfume Everscape showed the best results. Perfume Everscape won the top prize and a special award for disease and pest resistance at the 2022 Gifu International Rose Competition in Japan.

Professor Kyung Sook Kim of Kyung Hee University College of Medicine said, "Perfume Everscape contains various polyphenols and flavonoids with excellent antioxidant functions and anti-aging effects, confirming its outstanding anti-aging properties."

Everland held Korea's first rose festival in 1985. Since 2013, it has promoted the localization of roses and conducted over 1,500 breeding research sessions annually. To date, it has developed 37 new rose varieties. Recently, Everland signed an export contract for two new rose varieties, Perfume Everscape and Garden Everscape, with Japan and is currently registering these varieties for plant variety protection in Japan.

Ha Ho-su, a professional at Everland, said, "We will strive to ensure that the excellent characteristics of our domestically developed roses are utilized in various fields."

Meanwhile, Everland launched the body & hair care brand 'Florevida' using the new rose varieties and released products such as perfumes, shampoos, and lotions. They plan to continue research and development (R&D) related to the new rose varieties and related products.
