The Commission for Shared Growth unanimously appointed Chairman Lee Dal-gon after gathering opinions and recommendations from economic organizations and related institutions (such as the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Federation of SMEs, and the Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises). His term is two years, with the official inauguration starting on the 23rd of this month.

Chairman Lee previously served as the Dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University, President of the Korean Association for Public Administration, a member of the 18th National Assembly, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs to the President, and a member of the 21st National Assembly. He has held positions such as a member of the Industry, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises Committee and the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Affairs Committee, engaging in various legislative activities for large and small businesses and small merchants. He is recognized as a budget and policy expert, having served as a member of the National Assembly Budget Subcommittee, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Senior Secretary for Political Affairs to the President.

With the appointment of Chairman Lee, the Commission for Shared Growth can now proceed with urgent tasks such as announcing the Shared Growth Index, which had been delayed under the acting leadership of former Chairman Oh Young-kyo following the expiration of the previous term in February. Chairman Lee stated, "I will take the lead in strengthening the competitiveness and status of the Commission for Shared Growth and spreading the culture of regional shared growth."
