With the Opening of Sangnamhanmaeum Hospital, More Specialized and Comprehensive Pediatric Care Provided
Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital in Gyeongnam has been solely and simultaneously designated as the supporting institution for the Busan and Gyeongnam regions in the 'Pilot Project for Establishing a Regional Pediatric Care Cooperation System' announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and will operate a cooperative system for pediatric care.
This 'Pilot Project for Establishing a Regional Pediatric Care Cooperation System' is one of the support tasks for activating regional cooperation in pediatric care, as part of the 'Pediatric Medical System Improvement Measures' announced in September last year. The project aims to establish a pediatric care cooperation system (between pediatric clinics/hospitals and tertiary/general hospitals) within a certain region, so that when a pediatric patient with moderate or higher severity occurs, timely treatment can be provided.
In this project, Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital serves as the tertiary/general hospital (supporting institution) in the pediatric care cooperation model, which is structured as 'pediatric clinics (clinics/hospitals) - hospitals (central institutions) - tertiary/general hospitals (supporting institutions)'.
Ha Choongsik, Chairman of Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital, stated, "Being selected as the supporting institution covering the Busan and Gyeongnam regions proves the scale and expertise in pediatric care that Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital has built over the years," and added, "We will play an important role in strengthening the pediatric care capacity of the entire local community, not just Gyeongnam."
