Busan Port Authority, Please Vote for the 'Port-type Hi-Pass' as an Excellent Case

Finalist for International Association of Ports and Harbors Sustainability Award... Voting Event Until the 14th

Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced that its innovative project for Busan Port, the "Port-type Hi-Pass (e-EIR, Electronic Equipment Interchange Receipt)," has advanced to the finals in the Safety category of the "Sustainable Awards (WPSP)" hosted by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAHP), and will be holding a voting event until 7:00 a.m. on September 14.

Busan Port Authority, Please Vote for the 'Port-type Hi-Pass' as an Excellent Case Port-type Hi-Pass, Voting Poster.

The International Association of Ports and Harbors has been hosting the Sustainable Awards annually since 2018 to realize the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in the port sector.

The awards are divided into six categories: climate and energy, digitalization, environmental protection, infrastructure, community contribution, and safety and health. The most outstanding cases are selected as exemplary models to lead the sustainable development of ports worldwide.

Busan Port Authority has already received the honor of winning the award twice. In 2019, it won in the community contribution category for operating facilities such as swimming pools, camping sites, and foot baths for citizens in the redevelopment area of North Port, Busan. In 2023, it took first place in the infrastructure category for its "construction aggregate recycling" case.

The recently submitted "Port-type Hi-Pass" digitizes the paper interchange receipts previously issued at container terminal gates. The core of the project is the development of the "AllCon-e" app, which provides truck drivers with real-time information so they do not have to unnecessarily disembark inside the port.

Just two months after its full implementation at all terminals in July this year, the usage rate has reached 95%, achieving meaningful results in terms of safety and the environment by preventing safety accidents within the port and reducing the cost of disposing of discarded paper interchange receipts.

Voting for the Sustainable Awards can be accessed via the official website of the International Association of Ports and Harbors or by scanning the QR code on Busan Port Authority’s promotional poster. After participating in the vote, if you submit a screenshot to the event page, a total of 10 participants will be selected by lottery to receive prizes.

For more information on how to participate in the vote, check the KakaoTalk channel "Busan Port Authority Statistics" and the BPA SNS channels (Instagram and Facebook).

BPA President Kang Junseok stated, "Advancing to the finals for the third time is international recognition of Busan Port's efforts and achievements for sustainable growth," and added, "We ask for the support and votes of many citizens so that we can be selected as the final winner."
