Final Confirmation Scheduled at the Plenary Session on the 10th
Choi Kwanghee, an independent member of the South Chungcheong Provincial Council representing Boryeong 1, who was brought to trial on charges of refusing a police breathalyzer test, has been given a 30-day suspension from attending council sessions by the Ethics Special Committee of the South Chungcheong Provincial Council.
On the 9th, the Ethics Special Committee held a closed-door meeting and imposed a 30-day suspension from attendance on Choi, the third highest level of disciplinary action.
Previously, the Ethics Review Advisory Committee had recommended expulsion for Choi during a meeting, but the Ethics Special Committee reportedly decided on a 30-day suspension, considering that Jimin Kyu, who was referred for the same reason, had received the same penalty.
The final decision on the disciplinary action will be confirmed at the fourth plenary session of the 355th extraordinary meeting scheduled for the 10th.
Meanwhile, Choi is accused of refusing a police breathalyzer test in Boryeong at around 8:34 p.m. on March 20.
