Korea National Oil Corporation Hosts International Conference on Petroleum Stockpiling

Second General Assembly Held Among Asian Countries... 25 Countries Worldwide Participate

Platform Established for Information Exchange and Benchmarking in Oil Stockpiling Sector

Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dongseob) will host the ACOMES General Assembly, attended by oil stockpiling agencies from around the world, for four days starting from the 8th at the HICO Convention Center in Gyeongju.

Korea National Oil Corporation Hosts International Conference on Petroleum Stockpiling Dongseop Kim, President of Korea National Oil Corporation, is delivering a welcome speech at the ACOMES General Assembly (Annual Coordination Meeting of Emergency Stockholding Entities).

This is the second time that the General Assembly is being held in an Asian country.


The General Assembly will be attended by 25 countries that operate oil stockpiling bases, including the United States, Japan, China, and European Union member states. Presentation and discussion sessions will be held on topics such as "Energy Supply Security," "Response Measures and Simulation Training for Oil Supply Crisis Situations," and "Future Strategies of Stockpiling Agencies in the Era of Energy Transition."


In addition, the subcommittees will hold discussions on comparative analysis of management costs by operating method among participating countries, sharing of best practices in operations, and issues related to quality control and storage technology for stockpiled oil.


Through the keynote speech at the General Assembly, Korea National Oil Corporation will introduce its hydrogen and ammonia business strategies and present on topics such as "The Impact of Climate Change on Tank Terminal Operations." Furthermore, the corporation will share its oil stockpiling operation methods and technologies accumulated over more than 40 years, compare them with the experiences of participating countries, and seek directions for advancement in the oil stockpiling sector.


In his welcoming remarks, Kim Dongseob, President of Korea National Oil Corporation, said, "I hope that this General Assembly will serve as an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation between oil stockpiling countries and further expand nationwide case studies and information exchange."
