Ministry of the Interior and Safety Finalizes Written and Presentation Evaluations
Haman County in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that three districts have been selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's disaster prevention project for 2025, securing a record-high project budget of 47.7 billion KRW (35.8 billion KRW from national and provincial funds) in the history of Haman County's disaster prevention projects.
The disaster prevention project aims to protect residents' lives and prevent property damage in advance by maintaining disaster-related facilities such as rivers, steep slopes, and reservoirs in areas at risk of natural disasters. The final selection was made through document reviews and presentations by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since last March.

Among the three selected districts, the Daesan District, chosen for the Comprehensive Maintenance Project for Flood-Prone Living Zones, will receive a total project budget of 36.5 billion KRW. This will allow for the resolution of various disasters such as overflow damage and road flooding due to insufficient river cross-sections at Bumokcheon and Ipsacheon, as well as landslide and debris flow damage in village mountain areas.
By maintaining the frequently flooded roads on National Route 60 and Local Road 1021, which connect Chilseo-myeon and Daesan-myeon where many large industrial complexes and companies are located, not only local residents but also corporate workers will have secure commuting and logistics routes, achieving a dual benefit.
The Gojigol District in Bongseong-ri, Haman-myeon, selected for the Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Project, will receive a total project budget of 9.2 billion KRW. By reconstructing the Sewolgyo Bridge in Hamancheon, the risk of isolation due to overflow during the rainy season will be eliminated, enabling prompt response in emergencies.
The Judong N2 District in Judong-ri, Yeohang-myeon, selected for the Steep Slope Collapse Risk Area Maintenance Project, will receive a project budget of 2 billion KRW. By maintaining the roadside slopes of mountainous areas at risk of collapse, the project aims to prevent resident isolation due to future road slope collapses in advance.
County Mayor Cho Geunje stated, "After securing 35.6 billion KRW for the Chilwon Bugok District last year, we have achieved a record-high 47.7 billion KRW this year, totaling 83.3 billion KRW over two years for disaster prevention projects. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our residents and do our utmost to make Haman County a place where people can live without fear of natural disasters."
