Annual Support for Vulnerable Children in Ulju-gun
Gift Sets Delivered for Chuseok Again This Year
The volunteer group of Shinhan Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Ji Youngtaek) has been spreading warmth in the local community by continuing their support for Ulju-gun Dream Start children for 10 years.
On September 9, Lee Sanggu, head of the company's volunteer group, and its members delivered Chuseok gift sets worth 1 million KRW to Ulju-gun Dream Start to help children from underprivileged backgrounds in Ulju-gun.
This donation was made with the hope that children from vulnerable groups could enjoy a warm holiday during Chuseok.
The Shinhan Heavy Industries volunteer group, consisting of 43 members, began supporting underprivileged children in Ulju-gun in 2014. Since then, they have been leading community contributions by consistently providing annual donations of goods worth about 2 million KRW and supporting scholarships, among other activities.
Lee Sanggu, head of the Shinhan Heavy Industries volunteer group, said, "Although it may be a small gesture, I hope these acts of kindness will come together to give children the foundation to maintain hope and courage and pursue their dreams for the future. We promise to continue running together so that the children can grow up healthy."
An official from Ulju-gun said, "We are grateful to the Shinhan Heavy Industries volunteer group for their valuable support for the children of Ulju-gun for the past 10 years. We ask for your continued interest and love so that many children can grow up healthy."
Meanwhile, Ulju-gun Dream Start, which began as a pilot project in 2007, has been helping the healthy growth of children from vulnerable backgrounds (ages 0-12) by providing customized integrated services.
