Musk Expected to Become Humanity's First 'Trillionaire' in 3 Years

Jenson Huang Expected to Join 1 Trillion Club by 2028

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is projected to become the world's first trillionaire (approximately 1,339 trillion KRW) by 2027, according to a report.

On the 8th (local time), The Guardian reported that UK-based asset analysis firm Informa Connect Academy estimated Musk's wealth is increasing at an average annual rate of 110%.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk's net worth is $251 billion, making him currently the richest person in the world. If the firm's estimate holds true, his wealth would quadruple within three years.

Following Musk, the next individual expected to join the trillionaire ranks is Gautam Adani, chairman of India's Adani Group. His annual asset growth rate is 123%, and if maintained, he is projected to become a trillionaire by 2028.

Additionally, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, the leading U.S. AI chip company, and Prajogo Pangestu, chairman of Indonesia's energy conglomerate Barito Pacific Group, are also expected to join the "trillion-dollar club" by 2028.

Bernard Arnault, chairman of France's LVMH, the world's largest luxury group, and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook), are anticipated to join the trillionaire ranks by 2030.

The Guardian noted, "Since John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil and once called the 'Oil King,' became the world's first billionaire in 1916, public interest has focused on who will be the first trillionaire." However, it also pointed out that there are views considering the massive accumulation of wealth as a social ill.

According to a report by the international relief and development organization Oxfam last year, the top 1% wealthiest individuals accounted for 16% of global carbon emissions in 2019. The "super-rich" 77 million people emit as much carbon as the bottom 66%, which corresponds to about 5 billion people.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on the 5th, "We will create a committee to audit the entire federal government's finances and performance and propose bold reform recommendations," adding, "Elon has agreed to lead the task force (TF)." On the same day, Musk responded via X (formerly Twitter), saying, "If given the opportunity, I want to serve the United States," and "I do not need salary, position, or recognition."
