Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Provides Medical Support at Golden Trail National Final Athletics Competition

Sports Rehabilitation Center Provides Volunteer Medical Services for Injury Prevention

Dong-eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo)'s Sports Rehabilitation Center provided medical support at the 2024 Golden Trail National Final (GTN) track and field competition, which was held over two days from August 31 to September 1.

At this event, students from the Sports Rehabilitation Center and the Department of Physical Therapy at Dong-eui Institute of Technology operated a physio booth, providing professional conditioning management for over 200 local track and field athletes and recreational sports participants. They offered stretching, taping, massage, and first aid before and after the races to prevent injuries for athletes participating in the 5K, 15K, and 25K courses, striving to ensure more efficient recovery from various sports injuries that could occur during the competition.

An event official stated, "Thanks to the expertise and passion of the students from Dong-eui Institute of Technology's Sports Rehabilitation Center and Department of Physical Therapy, the athletes were able to maintain their best condition." The official also noted that both participants and event staff highly praised their contribution to improving the performance of local athletes and recreational sports enthusiasts.

Song Minyoung, Director of the Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-eui Institute of Technology, said, "The DIT Sports Rehabilitation Center aims to provide professional sports rehabilitation programs to athletes and recreational sports participants through cooperation with the local sports community, contributing to the development of local sports and the creation of a healthy community."

The university-affiliated Sports Rehabilitation Center was selected for the 'Phase 3 University Enterprise Support Project,' which provides five years of support starting in 2020. The center operates various programs each year based on student practice and local community needs, aiming to foster sports rehabilitation experts for the development of the local sports industry.
