Jinju Mayor Cho Kyu-il Visits Fire Station and Spends Time Communicating with Firefighters

Listening to Briefings on Fire Safety Measures and Other Work Status

Jo Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, visited the Jinju Fire Station to encourage the firefighters, discuss current issues, and communicate with the staff, according to an announcement on the 9th.


The visit included listening to reports on major pending issues and fire safety measures, followed by visits to the Sangdae 119 Safety Center and the civil affairs office to encourage the firefighters.

Chief Jo Hyung-yong of the fire station guided the mayor through the facilities, shared current projects including plans for a new building and difficulties faced, and stated that they are doing their utmost to protect the lives and property of citizens based on close mutual cooperation.


While encouraging the staff, Mayor Jo expressed his sincere gratitude, saying, "Despite experiencing record-breaking heat waves, I sincerely thank the firefighters who have worked tirelessly 24 hours a day with pride and a sense of duty," and asked them to "do their best to prevent safety accidents during the Chuseok holidays as well."


At the Jinju Fire Station, which welcomed Mayor Jo, the staff showed their support for Jinju by delivering a hometown donation of 22 million won.


The Jinju Fire Station, which has been engaged in various social contribution activities to strengthen ties with local residents and contribute to regional development, has joined the hometown donation campaign for local residents ahead of the Chuseok holiday.


Chief Jo Hyung-yong of the Jinju Fire Station said, "The Jinju Fire Station is always doing its best as a member of the local community for the development of Jinju and the safety of its citizens," and added, "I hope this donation will let Jinju and its citizens know that the Jinju Fire Station is always by their side."


Mayor Jo expressed his gratitude for the generous donation from the Jinju Fire Station and promised that the city government would also do its utmost to ensure the development of Jinju and the happiness of its citizens.


Meanwhile, the Jinju Fire Station has recently strengthened close cooperation with Jinju City by conducting safety inspections such as on-site inspections of water play facilities for children, joint rescue training at the Wola Mountain forest leisure sports facility, and joint inspections of multi-use and disaster-prone facilities ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
