Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism 'International Forum on Copyright Protection Enforcement'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency will hold the 'International Forum on Copyright Protection Enforcement' on the 9th in Mapo-gu, Seoul. This event aims to effectively protect K-content by sharing the copyright law system related to copyright infringement response and cases from major domestic and international institutions, as well as expanding the international cooperation network. Over 150 participants, including officials from overseas law enforcement agencies such as the Indonesian Intellectual Property Office, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Portuguese National Cybercrime Investigation Unit, as well as domestic and international copyright holders and professionals in related fields, will attend.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Lee Gyu-ho of Chung-Ang University Law School. He is expected to discuss South Korea's copyright protection system. Academic experts will present on the topic of 'Legal Theory and Practice in Responding to Copyright Infringement,' followed by overseas law enforcement officials sharing their experiences on 'Responding to Copyright Infringement Abroad.' Voices from the private sector regarding 'Private Sector Responses to Copyright Infringement and Their Limitations' will also be heard.
Jung Hyang-mi, Director of the Copyright Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "The laws and policies of individual countries have limitations in responding to copyright infringement that occurs across national borders," adding, "We will take the lead in international cooperation and joint efforts to protect the copyrights of K-content."
