On that day, the council members held a resolution rally and urged the revision of systems and laws related to the command and supervision of autonomous police stations and substations by the Autonomous Police Committee and the independent affairs of the autonomous police, the guarantee of the Autonomous Police Committee's authority over personnel rights and budget decision-making for the autonomous police, the establishment and allocation of an autonomous police grant tax through tax revenue generated from autonomous police affairs, and the promotion of national policy tasks related to the complete dualization of the national police and autonomous police.
Assemblyman Shin said, "For the autonomous police to be properly implemented, authority, budget, supervision, and funding must be thoroughly reexamined," adding, "Improvements must be expedited to provide safety services tailored to regional characteristics."
Assemblyman Kim Dae-young (Democratic, Proportional), who jointly read the resolution, said, "Regardless of party lines, everyone is united in hoping for the full implementation of the autonomous police system to protect socially vulnerable groups and prevent crime, thereby ensuring the safety of Incheon citizens."
