Play and Experience Facility 'Gangnam Eorini Hoegwan' Opens on the 12th Gangnam Children's Center Kids Cafe. Provided by Gangnam-gu.

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold the opening ceremony of the Gangnam Children's Center on the 12th and begin full-scale operations starting in October.

The Gangnam Children's Center is Gangnam-gu's first dedicated facility for children's play and experiential activities, created by actively reflecting the opinions of the local community, including families, daycare centers, schools, and parents. It is expected to serve as a hub supporting the integrated development of children by planning and providing programs that were difficult to operate due to spatial constraints in children's educational institutions.

With a total floor area of 2,830㎡ spanning from basement level 1 to the 6th floor above ground, the facility consists of ▲ Basement 1: Sports Playroom ▲ 1st Floor: Lobby and Nursing Room ▲ 2nd Floor: Seoul-style Kids Cafe ▲ 3rd-4th Floors: Experiential Playroom, Creative Playroom, Book Cafe ▲ 5th Floor: Exploration Playroom ▲ 6th Floor: Danuri Room for performances and events. The center is designed for children aged 0 to 12 and their parents.

In the Experiential Playroom and Exploration Playroom, specialized programs are operated to promote children's physical activity and emotional development while fostering emotional bonds with parents. Programs include ▲ five-sense development play using paint ▲ food therapy to improve eating habits ▲ growth plate stimulation programs ▲ children's dance classes ▲ traditional play experience events ▲ world folk instrument experiences ▲ making move dolls using emotion cards ▲ color play using personal color ▲ family book making and family portrait drawing, among others, allowing parents and children to participate together.

In particular, an English Play Zone staffed by native English teachers will be operated. The English Play Zone is a Gangnam-tailored program reflecting the demand of parents seeking quality English public education. It is designed for infants and children in grades 1 to 3 of elementary school to naturally encounter English through various play and experiential activities such as art, cooking, and DIY. This is expected to reduce the educational cost burden on families while helping children develop English communication skills and enjoy learning about English-speaking cultures.

The Sports Playroom offers various physical education classes, including climbing classes on an artificial rock wall, as well as VR cultural exhibition experience classes. The Kids Cafe provides a space where children aged 0 to 6 can freely run and play, and offers play care services for children aged 36 months and older. The Danuri Room provides space for puppet shows, children's performances, presentations, and large-scale parent education events.

The program rooms (3rd to 5th floors) operate from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Seoul-style Kids Cafe (2nd floor) and Sports Playroom (basement 1) operate from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For detailed information such as usage fees, please contact the Gangnam Children's Center or refer to the Gangnam Children's Center website, which is scheduled to open in October.

The opening ceremony will be held on the 12th at 2 p.m. in the Danuri Room on the 6th floor. On the day of the opening, all facilities from basement 1 to the 5th floor will be open to the public.

District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, "Through this specialized facility for children's play and experiential activities, we will support children to learn joyfully and grow by linking with local educational institutions," and added, "We will operate it as a core facility leading a child-friendly city where children grow happily and healthily."
