Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold a large-scale job and startup fair on the 24th of this month at Haenuri Town Haenuri Hall and Art Hall, with the participation of 20 companies and over 300 job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The ‘2024 GOOD-JOB Yangcheon-gu Job and Startup Fair’ features 20 small and medium-sized enterprises from various fields such as general and accounting office work, secretarial positions, travel office jobs, production, counseling, and driving. The fair will provide a ‘one-stop service’ from on-site interviews to employment consultations and hiring on the day.
The district has expanded the fair’s scope to include the ‘startup’ sector for residents interested not only in employment but also in startups and entrepreneurship. At the ‘Startup Talk Concert’ held at 2 p.m. on the 24th in Haenuri Town Art Hall, AI (Artificial Intelligence) expert and entrepreneur CEO Lee Seung-pil will give a lecture and lead a discussion on the topic of ‘AI-based Work Innovation and Startup Success Strategies.’
The lecture is open to about 100 interested residents, and applications can be made online or by phone to the Yangcheon-gu Job Plus Center by the 20th of this month.
For about 200 unemployed youth, middle-aged individuals, and women with career interruptions, a recruitment-linked ‘on-site interview’ will be conducted with 20 recruiting companies participating. Visiting times will be allocated based on prior employment consultations, and each company’s HR manager will decide on hiring on-site after the interview. Job seekers wishing to participate in the on-site interview must apply in advance by visiting or calling the Job Plus Center by September 19.
Professional career counselors will be stationed at the consultation booths to provide one-on-one customized employment counseling and job information for about 10 local companies. Additionally, promotional booths gathering various job and startup support information from Yangcheon Startup Support Center, Southern Employment Welfare Plus Center, Western Women’s Development Center, and Baekseok Culture University will be set up in one place.
The ‘autonomous guiding robot,’ which was first introduced and received great response at the job fair earlier this year, will be deployed on-site to visually deliver hiring information from each job and startup booth as well as various district news to job seekers at a glance.
Meanwhile, since 2022, the district has held a total of seven job fairs, with 323 job seekers hired on-site.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, “I hope this job and startup fair, which provides opportunities for communication between recruiting companies and job seekers as well as startup information, will establish itself as a genuine ‘Yangcheon-type job platform.’ We will continue to spare no effort in discovering quality jobs and supporting the resolution of employment difficulties.”
