The '18th Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival (RED FOOD FESTIVAL)' and the '2024 Jangsu Robot Competition G-PRC Jeonbuk Tournament' were held successfully on the 8th at the Sandigwan of Jangsu Hannuri Hall, with about 1,000 students and parents participating.
About 600 elementary school students participated in this Jangsu Robot Competition. They competed in a total of six events: Speed Touch-Connect, Speed Touch-Technique, Speed Drone, LED Touch Technique, Push and Run Soap, and Creative Coding Mission.
The 'Global Pro Robot Championship Robot Competition (G-PRC)' is a coding robot competition for future robot talents, held for the first time in Jangsu. It was well received as everyone competed with one heart and one mind while enjoying the festival and its excitement.
A student who participated in the competition said, "I had a vague curiosity about robots, but by participating in the competition, I became more interested in robots and coding," adding, "After the competition, I want to visit the festival grounds and watch the fireworks display."
Choi Hoon-sik, the governor of Jangsu County, said, "I am pleased that this robot competition, held in conjunction with the '2024 RED FOOD FESTIVAL,' took place in Jangsu County," and added, "We will do our best to foster future talents by preparing events that students can participate in and enjoy, like the robot competition."
Meanwhile, the 'G-PRC Robot Competition,' which has been held since 2014, started domestically and has developed into a global competition since 2021. It is an official robot competition where elementary school participants selected from around the world compete in robotics and coding. The final competition is scheduled to be held in November at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul.
