KakaoBank Supports Vulnerable Groups with 1 Billion KRW for Chuseok ▲Yoon Ho-young, CEO of Kakao Bank (second from left), announced on the 8th at Kakao Bank Pangyo Office in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, that he purchased 1 billion KRW worth of Onnuri gift certificates to donate to Sarangae Yeolmae in celebration of Chuseok.

KakaoBank announced on the 8th that it will donate 1 billion KRW worth of Onnuri gift certificates to the Community Chest of Korea (Sarangui Yeolmae) to support vulnerable groups and revitalize traditional markets ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

This donation aims to actively contribute to caring for marginalized groups and helping small business owners in traditional markets who are struggling due to high interest rates and sluggish domestic demand following the COVID-19 pandemic. KakaoBank will donate all the purchased Onnuri gift certificates to the Community Chest of Korea.

Onnuri gift certificates were created to revitalize local economies such as traditional markets and can be used at traditional markets and shopping districts nationwide. The gift certificates purchased by KakaoBank this time will be distributed through the Community Chest of Korea to support elderly people living alone, children suffering from food insecurity, and others, contributing not only to vulnerable groups before the holiday but also to the revitalization of traditional markets.

Yoon Ho-young, CEO of KakaoBank, said, "I am glad that this donation can help vulnerable groups and small business owners have a warm Chuseok holiday, even if just a little. We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities and strive to contribute to creating a better society."

Meanwhile, KakaoBank has provided various financial supports such as 'Mid-to-Low Credit Loans,' 'Haetsal Loan 15' for low-income and low-credit workers, and 'Personal Business Owner Credit Loans' for small business owners. It is estimated that the interest reduction amount provided through KakaoBank's supply of 'Haetsal Loan 15' and 'Mid-to-Low Credit Loans' last year was approximately 307 billion KRW.

In April, KakaoBank contributed 8 billion KRW to the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency to supply additional inclusive finance products, and in July, it donated 500 million KRW to support operating expenses such as electricity bills, labor costs, and water bills to alleviate the management burden of small business owners.
