"Would You Like to See the Picture I Drew?"... Songpa-gu Holds the 1st Elementary School Drawing Contest

Recruitment for Elementary School Students' Drawing Contest in the Region until October 18
Opportunity to Showcase Drawing Skills on Any Topic
153 Outstanding Works Selected... Award Ceremony and Exhibition to be Held in November

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will hold the "1st Songpa-gu Elementary School Students Drawing Contest" for elementary school students in the area.


The drawing contest, held for the first time this year, is recruiting participants aged 8 to 13 in the region until October 18.


The district planned this drawing contest to provide children, who grow through various experiences, with an opportunity to freely showcase their creativity and artistic skills.


The contest will be conducted in the form of a competition, and students who wish to participate can submit drawings on any free topic related to school life, created during class or at home, to their schools. The works submitted by each school will later be collectively collected by the district office visiting each school.

The district plans to select 153 outstanding works through the deliberation of a judging panel composed of art experts. Awards will be given based on creativity, artistry, and aesthetics, divided into lower and upper elementary school categories.


The awards include ▲Grand Prize (3 students) ▲Gold Prize (15 students) ▲Silver Prize (30 students), with certificates presented directly by the Songpa-gu Mayor, and ▲Bronze Prize (45 students) and ▲Encouragement Prize (60 students) to be delivered to each school.


The results of the judging will be individually notified to the awardees on October 31, and the award ceremony is scheduled to be held in November at the Songpa-gu Office auditorium. A separate exhibition focusing on the outstanding works is also planned.


Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "I hope the '1st Songpa-gu Elementary School Students Drawing Contest,' held for the first time this year, will be an opportunity for children to freely express their artistic sensibility and fully demonstrate their creativity." He added, "We will continue to implement Songpa-gu’s unique educational policies so that children, the future leaders, can grow by experiencing various cultural activities."
