In 2019, KT opened the Cambodia KT Kkumppum Classroom, a rehabilitation center for hearing-impaired children, in collaboration with Severance Hospital and the Community Chest of Korea. Over the past five years, more than 8,500 hearing-impaired children have overcome their disabilities and nurtured their dreams of social integration through the Kkumppum Classroom.

The program was attended by 88 stakeholders, including Tae-sung Oh, Head of KT ESG Management Office (Senior Executive Vice President), Professor Jae-young Choi of Severance Hospital, and the director of Preah Ang Duong Hospital, along with 43 beneficiary hearing-impaired children. They held a session to present the latest insights on cochlear implants and the achievements of the Kkumppum Classroom.

Additionally, to raise awareness about digital side effects and environmental issues, KT provided hospital patients with digital citizenship education and a keyring-making experience using discarded uniforms.

In particular, KT supported the surgery costs for four hearing-impaired children in Cambodia to receive cochlear implant surgery, and Professor Choi personally demonstrated the surgery. The surgery was conducted in a demonstration format so that local otolaryngologists could observe and learn the medical techniques firsthand. Professor Choi stated, "We will continue to strive for the holistic treatment of hearing-impaired children."

Senior Executive Vice President Oh said, "Over the past five years, the Kkumppum Classroom has played a role in delivering hope to hearing-impaired children in Cambodia and helping them dream various dreams," adding, "We will continue to support more children to realize their dreams and communicate with the wider world."
