President Yoon Suk-yeol presented appointment letters to Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, Director of the National Security Office Shin Won-sik, and Special Advisor for Foreign and Security Affairs Jang Ho-jin on the 6th.
On the morning of the same day, President Yoon held an appointment letter ceremony at the Yongsan Presidential Office and gave the appointment letters to Minister Kim, Director Shin, and Special Advisor Jang. He also handed bouquets to their spouses who attended together.
President Yoon took commemorative photos with Minister Kim, Director Shin, Special Advisor Jang, and their spouses before heading to the reception room.
Attending the appointment ceremony were Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, Director of Policy Office Seong Tae-yoon, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Hong Cheol-ho, Senior Secretary for Public Relations Lee Do-woon, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Kim Joo-hyun, Senior Secretary for Civil Society Jeon Gwang-sam, Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs Park Chun-seop, Senior Secretary for Science and Technology Park Sang-wook, and Senior Secretary for Low Birthrate Response Yoo Hye-mi, among other presidential aides.
Earlier, President Yoon had requested the National Assembly on the previous day to send the personnel hearing reports for Minister Kim and National Human Rights Commission Chairperson Ahn Chang-ho, and when the deadline was missed, he approved the appointments on the morning of the same day.
They are the 28th and 29th high-ranking officials appointed without the adoption of personnel hearing reports by the National Assembly since the Yoon Suk-yeol administration began.
