The Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) has installed a 'Smart Radar System' in the public restrooms of Suwon Paldal Parking Tower to prevent safety accidents.
The Smart Radar System, a non-imaging device using radio frequencies, can detect emergencies such as falls and abnormal behavior inside the restroom in real time and immediately notify the manager via PC and mobile text messages.
Suwon Paldal Tower is a 24-hour open public restroom vulnerable to various safety accidents such as homeless deaths, intoxicated people sleeping, and users collapsing. However, installing security facilities raised privacy concerns, creating a need for a suitable solution.
A GH official stated, "With the introduction of the Smart Radar System, we have been able to further ensure the safety of users of the Suwon Paldal Parking Tower public restrooms," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a safer parking environment."
