Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that it will hold the 'Gyeonggi Province Bus Transportation Workers Recruitment Fair' at Uijeongbu Indoor Gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 11th.
This recruitment fair is organized jointly by Gyeonggi Province and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, with 43 major bus transportation companies in the province participating.
In addition to hiring new personnel through on-site consultations and interviews with job seekers, information on bus transportation worker training programs and recruitment of trainees will also be conducted.
The fair will feature various side events such as company-specific employment briefings and conversations with senior transportation workers. Job seekers participating in the fair can submit their resumes and self-introduction letters on-site and attend interviews, as well as obtain various information necessary for employment.
Job seekers without bus driving experience can obtain a Class 1 Large Vehicle License and Bus Driver Qualification Certificate, then gain employment through training programs. After completing the training course, they can receive living support funds provided by Gyeonggi Province. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Gyeonggi Province Bus Management Division and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
Nam Sang-eun, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Transportation Bureau, said, "We expect active training and recruitment of bus transportation workers through the fair," adding, "It will greatly help alleviate the manpower shortage of transportation workers following the promotion of the public management system for city buses in Gyeonggi Province."
Job seekers who cannot attend the fair can check recruitment information through the job posting boards on the websites of the Gyeonggi Province Bus Transportation Business Association and the Gyeonggi Province Village Bus Transportation Business Association.
