Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) has actively taken steps to enhance employee capabilities.
On the 4th, the district held the 'Todak Todak Jungnang Mentoring' pairing ceremony, marking the start of mentoring activities that will continue for about three months.
'Todak Todak Jungnang Mentoring' is a program designed to help new public officials smoothly adapt to the organization. It supports the formation of bonds so that senior and junior officials can communicate and interact, understand each other, and share various work know-how.
The mentoring program includes 38 representative mentors (Grade 6) and intermediate mentors (Grades 7 and 8) selected through employee recommendations, along with 73 new public officials as mentees. They are organized into a total of 19 mentoring groups considering job series, departments, and ages.
At the pairing ceremony held that day, mentors and mentees exchanged pledges regarding their commitment to the mentoring program. Starting with the ceremony, over the next three months, they will share interests and concerns and pass on know-how for public service life through 'mentoring activities,' as well as continue regular meetings through 'mentoring day activities,' which include exploring major attractions of Jungnang-gu for a day.
In addition, the district operates various customized training programs for employee capability enhancement and self-development.
At the Jungnang-gu Talent Development Center located in the district’s second office building, essential values required as public officials are taught through core competency training courses in job expertise, public service values, leadership, and informatization, as well as various general liberal arts courses including humanities, experiences, and one-day classes. This contributes to improving employees’ job skills and relieving stress.
Furthermore, to foster a reading culture among public officials, the district actively supports employee self-development through programs such as personalized book reading reflecting individual tastes and demands, autonomous elective online special education for cultivating global talents, and self-directed learning programs like foreign language phone courses.
In particular, the 'Half-Day Jungnang Tour,' where employees spend half the day working and the other half exploring Jungnang-gu’s attractions to recharge, is a special training program that promotes harmony among employees and publicizes Jungnang-gu, receiving great responses.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "We will actively support new public officials to adapt well to the organization through the mentoring program," adding, "We will do our best to develop human resources that lead organizational growth by supporting various training programs not only for new employees but for all staff."
