On the 5th, President Yoon Suk-yeol requested the National Assembly to send the personnel hearing outcome reports for Kim Yong-hyun, the nominee for Minister of National Defense, and Ahn Chang-ho, the nominee for Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission.
According to the Presidential Office, President Yoon approved the request for resubmission of the reports for the two nominees and set the submission deadline as that day.
If the National Assembly fails to adopt the hearing reports within the deadline, the President can request resubmission within 10 days. If the National Assembly does not comply with the request, the President may appoint the nominees without the hearing reports starting the following day.
Since President Yoon set the submission deadline as that day, it is expected that the two nominees will be appointed as early as the 6th.

The National Assembly held personnel hearings for nominee Kim on the 2nd and nominee Ahn on the 3rd, but the hearing reports were not adopted.
The opposition party judged nominee Kim as unsuitable, citing his leadership in relocating the presidential office to Yongsan, favoritism toward alumni from Chungam High School, and controversies over excessive security during his tenure as head of the Security Office.
Regarding nominee Ahn, the hearing report was not adopted due to concerns over biased religious views and controversies related to gender sensitivity.
President Yoon has appointed minister-level officials 27 times, including Kim Moon-soo as Minister of Employment and Labor, without the National Assembly adopting the hearing reports.
