Gyeonggi Provincial Council Chairman Kim Jin-kyung (Democratic Party of Korea, Siheung 3) visited the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency on the 5th and met with Commissioner Kim Jun-young, urging mutual cooperation to strengthen public safety in preparation for the Chuseok holiday and to protect vulnerable groups from crime and safety risks.
During the visit, Chairman Kim Jin-kyung said, "I hope the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency will take proactive measures to address the increased demand for public safety during the Chuseok holiday," and added, "Please respond strongly to any potential crimes that may infringe on public life so that the residents can spend the holiday safely and comfortably."
He also stated, "The need to establish a delicate social safety net for vulnerable groups in terms of crime and safety is gradually increasing," and requested, "I hope there will be opportunities in the future for the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency to collaborate on policy measures related to this."
In response, Commissioner Kim Jun-young said, "We will do our best to ensure a safe holiday season through comprehensive public safety measures," and added, "Since traffic safety is closely related to residents' lives amid a high traffic accident fatality rate, I ask the Gyeonggi Provincial Council to take a keen interest in supporting this issue as well."
