People Power Party Raises Ministry of Health's Responsibility for Medical Crisis... "Those Responsible Must Be Held Accountable"

Kim Jong-hyeok "The person who changed the president's words must take responsibility"
Na Kyung-won "We need to reorganize and negotiate to resolve conflicts"
Park Ju-min "Dismissal of the Minister and Vice Minister of Welfare is the start of solving the problem"

As concerns over a legislative vacuum due to conflicts in the National Assembly grow, the political sphere has gradually begun to raise questions about the responsibility of the Minister and Vice Minister of Health and Welfare. Notably, this criticism has come not only from the opposition but also from the ruling party.

On the 5th, Kim Jong-hyuk, a Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, stated at a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, "Drastic measures are necessary," adding, "The start is for those responsible to take responsibility."

After the Supreme Council meeting, Kim met with reporters and said, "If the President thought there was no problem in the emergency room, who would have reported that?" and "The person who caused the President's statement to change must be held accountable."

Although Kim did not directly name the individual, he effectively pointed to Park Min-su, Vice Minister of Health and Welfare. He said, "How would the public know whether a patient is severe or mild?" and introduced, "In-yo Han, a doctor and Supreme Council Member, said that if only half of a stroke occurs, the patient can still speak, but he said it was serious." Earlier, Vice Minister Park sparked controversy by stating on a radio broadcast, "The fact that the patient can call and check by themselves should be understood as a mild case."

Regarding his mention of responsibility, Kim said it was his "personal conviction," but added, "If you talk to others personally, there is a lot of dissatisfaction."

Na Kyung-won, a senior member of the ruling party, also raised the issue of responsibility.

On the same day, Na said on KBS Radio, "The trust needed to mediate and resolve the (legislative) conflict has completely broken down," and asked, "Shouldn't the heads of the responsible departments step down?" She emphasized, "Now, a new framework must be created to mediate and resolve this conflict through a new negotiation table."

The opposition also raised the issue of responsibility. Park Joo-min, Chairman of the Democratic Party's Special Committee on Medical Crisis Measures and a member of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, stated on social media, "Dismiss Minister Cho Kyu-hong and Vice Minister Park Min-su, who caused the current medical crisis and deceived the President's eyes and ears," adding, "That will be the start of solving the problem."
