Democratic Party Announces Supplementary Proposal for 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Law'
Park: "There Were Many Circumstances Related to Mrs. Kim"
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "If the truth about First Lady Kim Geon-hee is not clearly revealed, this confusion will not disappear."
After the 'Negotiation Group Representative Speech' by Chu Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People Power Party, on the morning of the 5th, Park said at the National Assembly rotunda, "The timing of the proposal for the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act' is being politically coordinated," adding, "The report about First Lady Kim Geon-hee that came out this morning is shocking." He was referring to reports alleging that Kim, the wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, intervened in the People Power Party's general election nomination process.

He claimed, "I think everyone in the public has suspicions," and asked, "Were there not many circumstances indicating that First Lady Kim was V1 (an abbreviation for VIP)?" He continued, "She is involved in state affairs, even party affairs, and also in unacceptable election interference," emphasizing, "Reports have also revealed that First Lady Kim had influence over the people's livelihood discussion meeting held while the president was about to pour out more than 900 trillion won in populist budgets ahead of the election." He added, "It seems the public was shocked."
Park also mentioned, "'The Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act' was rejected through the president's request for reconsideration (veto), but the suspicions continue to emerge."
The Democratic Party of Korea is expected to supplement and strengthen the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act' around the Chuseok holiday and reintroduce it.
