Kyungbok University Opens 'Digital Twin Research Institute' Leading Future Growth Industries (G7) Gyeongbok University recently opened the Digital Twin Research Institute

Kyungbok University recently established the 'Digital Twin Research Institute' equipped with national and global competitiveness.


Digital twin technology replicates physical objects, systems, and processes in the digital world, enabling various analyses and simulations, thereby contributing to innovative problem-solving and the creation of new value.


Kyungbok University explained that it established the Digital Twin Research Institute to lead research and development using this technology, cultivate specialized digital twin personnel, and carry out educational programs and practical research projects.


The Digital Twin Research Institute aims to engage in ▲ research and development of digital twin technology ▲ contribution to the cultivation of specialized personnel through educational programs utilizing the latest digital twin technology ▲ practical research through industry-academia-research cooperation ▲ conducting research by participating in domestic and international academic societies and associations ▲ building research networks through participation in domestic and international academic societies and associations.


Kyungbok University plans to promote the practical application of digital twin technology by utilizing practical facilities such as the Creative IT Center.


The main research areas include smart factories, smart cities, smart farms, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data.


A representative from Kyungbok University stated, "The Digital Twin Research Institute will continue its activities with the goal of leading the advancement of digital twin technology through continuous research and innovation, establishing itself as a research institution with national and global competitiveness."
