KISTI Hosts 'KSC 2024' to Discuss AI, HPC, and Quantum Computing

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information announced on the 5th that it will hold the "Korea Supercomputing Conference (KSC) 2024" over two days from the 25th to the 26th at The-K Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

KISTI Hosts 'KSC 2024' to Discuss AI, HPC, and Quantum Computing

Marking its 21st year, KSC2024 is the largest domestic academic event and exhibition related to supercomputing, where experts and students from industry, academia, research institutes, and government involved in HPC (High-Performance Computing) and computational science and engineering participate to present research and development achievements and exchange the latest technologies.

Under the theme "Accelerating Discovery: HPC's Data-Driven Innovation," this event will feature a keynote lecture on AI semiconductors and AI supercomputer architectures in the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), as well as 11 simultaneous workshops covering the latest technology trends such as efficient operation and utilization strategies for HPC infrastructure, ultra-high-performance computing applications in various fields (astronomy, weather/climate, industry), HPC cloud technologies, and highly integrated ultra-low-power semiconductor simulation technologies.

Along with four community forums aimed at fostering the HPC ecosystem, a quantum computing tutorial using quantum software development tools will be jointly held with the fall academic conference of the Korean Society for Computational Science and Engineering.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Minsoo Cho, said, "This event will provide a venue to gain ideas on the use of supercomputing related to core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, including basic scientific applications, digital industry convergence, AI, big data, next-generation national science and technology networks based on supercomputing, HPC utilization and infrastructure, and quantum computers, and will allow experts from industry, academia, and research institutes to interact with each other."
