Polestar's Polestar 4 has been selected as the Car of the Month for September by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association.
The Korea Automobile Journalists Association announced this selection on the 5th.
The association's Car of the Year selection committee evaluates new cars and facelift models released during the entire previous month, from the 1st to the end of the month, to announce the Car of the Month. The evaluation categories include ▲interior/exterior design and emotional quality ▲safety and convenience features ▲power performance ▲energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions ▲marketability and purchase intention.
Among the new cars introduced last month, KG Mobility Actyon, Porsche's new Taycan, Volkswagen's new Touareg, Polestar Polestar 4, and Hyundai Motor Company's Casper Electric were nominated for the Car of the Month for September. After competition, the Polestar 4 was finally selected with a score of 36.7 points out of 50.
The Polestar 4 received 7.7 points (out of 10) each in power performance and energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions, and scored 7.3 points in interior/exterior design and emotional quality.
Jung Chi-yeon, chairman of the Car of the Year selection committee, said, "The Polestar 4, with its bold coupe style that eliminates the rear window, is the fastest high-performance model among existing Polestar production cars," and added, "Based on a 100 kWh battery, it can travel up to 620 km on a single charge according to European (WLTP) standards, and is equipped with advanced driving assistance and safety systems such as T-map Auto navigation."
The association announces the Car of the Month selection results through its website. Vehicles selected as Car of the Month are granted a free pass privilege, allowing them to advance directly to the first round of the final judging without going through the first and second half evaluations of the Car of the Year.
