This relay challenge is an event in which mayors and county heads of Gyeongnam participate in succession to garner public interest and wish for the success of the 105th National Sports Festival and the 44th National Para Games, which will be held in Gyeongnam this October.
As the 18th participant, Mayor Hong stated, "I sincerely wish for the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival and the National Para Games, which are being held in Gyeongnam for the first time in 14 years," and added, "We will actively support the athletes visiting Changwon Special City so they can achieve their best results in a safe environment."
Meanwhile, the National Sports Festival will be held throughout Gyeongnam from October 11 to 17, and the National Para Games will take place from October 25 to 30. In particular, in Changwon Special City, 10 events including shooting, baseball, and tennis for the National Sports Festival will be held at 12 venues, and 7 events including badminton, cycling, and swimming for the National Para Games will be held at 8 venues.
