Special Chuseok Holiday Event Held from 6th to 15th

Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 5th that it will hold the ‘2024 Chuseok Holiday Special Event’ from the 6th to the 15th at five traditional markets, offering discounts of up to 20% on Chuseok ritual items and more, along with Onnuri gift certificate refunds and various prize giveaways.
The five traditional markets in Yangcheon-gu participating in the event are ▲ Sinyeong Market ▲ Moksarang Market ▲ Gyeongchang Market ▲ West Seoul Alley-type Shopping District ▲ Omokgyo Central Market.
On the first day of the event, the 6th and 7th, Sinyeong Market will give scratch lottery tickets to customers who purchase over 10,000 KRW and hold the ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ event, where prizes such as 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificates, coffee, and salt will be awarded, along with traditional folk game experience activities.
At Moksarang Market, the ‘Chuseok Da Dream’ event will continue from the 6th. Customers who purchase over 20,000 KRW will receive raffle tickets for prizes including sesame oil, perilla oil, kitchen detergent, Himalayan salt, insulated lunch boxes, and airtight containers.
From the 9th to the 14th, Gyeongchang Market will hold a ‘Loyal Customer Appreciation Event’ where coupon holders will receive ten 10L volume-based waste bags, and a prize event where customers who purchase over 50,000 KRW will be given 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificates. During the event period, ritual items and agricultural, livestock, and marine products will also be available at 15-20% discounted prices.
On the 10th and 11th, West Seoul Alley-type Shopping District will host a traditional game festival to enhance the festive atmosphere. Visitors can experience folk games such as ttakji-chigi (folded paper game), jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), and yutnori (traditional board game), and receive market coupons worth about 10,000 KRW. A photo zone will also be set up within the market to provide visitors with an enjoyable experience.
From the 10th to the 12th, Omokgyo Central Market will hold events including performances and talent shows that both merchants and customers can enjoy. Visitors will be entertained with trot and janggu drum performances, and talent shows and roulette games will offer abundant prizes such as 100,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificates and vacuum cleaners.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, a special Chuseok refund event will be held at two markets, Moksarang Market and Sinyeong Market, where customers purchasing domestic seafood can receive up to 20,000 KRW back in Onnuri gift certificates. The event runs from the 9th to the 15th at Moksarang Market and from the 11th to the 15th at Sinyeong Market.
