At the 2024 Climate Industry International Expo
The Korea Energy Agency announced on the 5th that the '1st Climate Energy Innovation Awards' ceremony was held on the 4th at BEXCO in Busan, where the '2024 Climate Industry International Expo' is taking place.
The Climate Energy Innovation Awards, held for the first time this year, invited applications from small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and startups possessing innovative technologies and products in four fields: ▲Carbon-Free Energy ▲Future Energy ▲Future Mobility ▲Climate Environment. A panel of experts in the climate energy sector evaluated the technologies based on technical merit, ideas, and marketability, ultimately selecting a total of eight technologies.

The Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award was given to four companies: NearsLab (autonomous flight AI solution), H Energy (solar power generation business solution), ABM (building-integrated solar power generation system), and BT Energy (run-of-river hydropower turbine). Reharvest’s food upcycling technology, Blackstone’s Clean Road system, DI Lab’s climate risk management service, and NX’s building energy management system received the Korea Energy Agency President’s Award.
Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Energy Agency, stated, "We plan to continuously discover and support outstanding companies and technologies in the climate energy industry sector," and added, "We hope many companies will show interest in the Climate Energy Innovation Awards."
The technologies and products of the award-winning companies leading global climate energy innovation can be seen at the Climate Energy Innovation Awards Special Pavilion set up in Exhibition Hall 1 at BEXCO during the expo. They can also be viewed on the official website of the Korea Energy Agency.
