BPA Receives Busan Mayor's Commendation for Contribution to Public Procurement of Social Economy Enterprise Products

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) received a commendation from the Mayor of Busan on the 4th for its contribution to promoting public procurement of products from social economy enterprises.

The city of Busan awarded commendations to the top six public institutions based in Busan with outstanding records in purchasing products from social economy enterprises (including social enterprises, preliminary social enterprises, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises).

In 2023, Busan Port Authority purchased products from social economy enterprises amounting to 5.3 billion KRW, which is 3.02% of its total goods procurement (176.1 billion KRW).

This accounts for 12.1% of the total purchase of social economy enterprise products in Busan (43.9 billion KRW) and 4.9% of the purchases made by other public institutions nationwide (107.6 billion KRW).

Busan Port Authority has established a real-time procurement performance tracking system and manages monthly procurement records at the institutional level. Additionally, the authority encourages the purchase of social economy enterprise products by requiring a priority procurement review form during the ordering process.

BPA's Head of Management Division, Jin Kyooho, stated, "This award recognizes our efforts for mutual growth in the local community, and we will continue to seek various ways to promote the purchase of social economy enterprise products."
