Free Car Inspection at Sindorim Intersection at 10 AM on the 8th
Carpos Talent Donation to Check Tire, Engine Condition, etc.
Free Service Provided if Needed... 'Car Maintenance Class' to be Held in October
Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will conduct a “Free Vehicle Inspection” at the intersection in front of Sindorim Overpass at 10 a.m. on the 8th to help residents have a safe journey home during the Chuseok holiday.
The “Free Vehicle Inspection” is made possible through the talent donation of the Carpos (Automobile Professional Maintenance Business Association) Yeongdeungpo Branch. Reflecting the enthusiastic response from residents every year, the number of vehicles subject to inspection has been increased to 250 this year.
Skilled mechanics will focus on checking for tire punctures or engine overheating to ensure safe long-distance driving, based on their extensive knowledge and experience. In addition, they will check ▲ engine oil, battery, brake inspection ▲ wiper, washer fluid, and coolant management status.
All inspections are free of charge. If necessary, free services such as bulb replacement and engine oil refilling will be provided.
Residents who wish to receive the free vehicle inspection can visit the site on the day without prior application to receive the service.
The district emphasized that since many will be driving long distances for the first time in a while ahead of Chuseok, it is important to thoroughly inspect vehicles for safe driving during this opportunity.
Additionally, the district operates the “Easy-to-Learn Vehicle Maintenance Class for Everyone” to promote safe driving and accident prevention for self-driving residents. This is to help drivers inspect their own vehicles and respond quickly in case of unexpected accidents or breakdowns.
The “Maintenance Class” consists of theoretical education and hands-on practice. In October, at the annex auditorium of the district office, participants will learn the functions of major vehicle components and emergency response methods theoretically, followed by a practical session on the 18th at Dorim-dong retention basin, where they will directly practice oil changes, air pressure checks, and tire inspections on their own vehicles.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “Thanks to the talent donation and volunteer work of professional mechanics for our residents, this Chuseok will be even more joyful and warm,” and added, “We will prioritize safety and implement various policies to prevent traffic accidents and foster a safe traffic culture.”
