29 Cities and Counties Including Sister Cities Gurye-gun, Goesan-gun, Namwon-si, Danyang-gun, Yecheon-gun, and 45 Farms Participating
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) will operate the '2024 Chuseok Guro Hanmadang Market' for two days on September 11 and 12 at the Guro-gu Office Plaza.
The Guro Hanmadang Market is a direct transaction market operated by the district every year before the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, providing residents with high-quality local specialties and ceremonial food ingredients at affordable prices, contributing to price stability in this era of high inflation.
At the Lunar New Year Guro Hanmadang Market held last February, 43 farms from 28 cities and counties participated, recording total sales of 231.62 million KRW, showing high participation and response from residents.
This Chuseok Guro Hanmadang Market will feature 45 farms from 29 cities and counties, including five sister regions: Gurye-gun, Goesan-gun, Namwon-si, Danyang-gun, and Yecheon-gun.
More than 250 items of agricultural, livestock, and marine products, as well as ceremonial food ingredients such as Korean beef, dried yellow corvina, local specialties, and seasonal fruits, will be sold at prices lower than market prices. A food market will also be operated to add enjoyment to the event.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For more details, check the Guro-gu Office website or contact the Guro-gu Office Regional Economy Division. A Guro-gu official said, “The Guro Hanmadang Market is also a 'place of exchange' to promote coexistence between urban and rural areas, producers and consumers,” and added, “We hope everyone reduces the burden of Chuseok shopping expenses and enjoys a joyful Hangawi with trustworthy local specialties at the Guro Hanmadang Market.”
