Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) successfully held the "25th Gwanak-gu Social Welfare Day Ceremony" on the 4th to commemorate Social Welfare Day.

“Social Welfare Day” was designated as a legal commemorative day on September 7, 2000, to enhance the public’s understanding of social welfare and encourage the activities of social welfare workers. This year marks the 25th anniversary.

The district held the event under the theme "Today’s Heroes, Our Social Workers." In particular, 48 individuals and 3 organizations who contributed to the development of social welfare in various fields were awarded commendations, honoring the dedication and efforts of social workers.

The ceremony was attended by about 400 social welfare workers and local residents, creating a harmonious occasion to support the activities of social welfare workers and strengthen cooperation in community welfare.

In the first part of the event, CEO Jang Dong-seon, a "neuroscientist," gave a special lecture titled "Overcoming Burnout, and Happiness is in the Brain." The main topics included ▲how to find happiness while working ▲the relationship between the brain and happiness ▲methods to overcome burnout, which received great responses from the attendees.

The second part of the event proceeded with ▲celebratory performances (Rock and Roll Crew, Tune Around) ▲commendations for social welfare contributors ▲commemorative and congratulatory speeches.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “I express my deep gratitude to the social welfare workers who add warmth to Gwanak-gu through their relentless efforts and dedication,” and added, “We will do our best to realize inclusive welfare where everyone, including social workers, can be happy.”
