Mapo-gu to Provide Free Car Inspections for Chuseok Travelers on September 8 from 10 AM to 4 PM Opposite the South Gate of Seoul World Cup Stadium... Engine Condition, Tire Pressure, Brake Pads Checked, Some Consumables Replaced Free of Charge
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Kang-su) will conduct free car inspections on September 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. opposite the South Gate of Seoul World Cup Stadium to help residents have a safe journey home ahead of the national holiday Chuseok.
Sponsored by Mapo-gu and hosted by the Mapo-gu branch of the Seoul Automobile Professional Maintenance Business Association (KAPOS), this event is designed to help families enjoy a comfortable holiday by preventing vehicle breakdowns through simple preliminary inspections.
About 20 professional maintenance technicians from the association will carefully inspect residents' vehicles during the event.
The main inspection items include overall checks for long-distance driving preparation such as engine condition and fuel leakage, ignition system and belts, transmission inspection, tire air pressure and brake pad checks, and inspection and replenishment of various oils. Consumables such as worn-out or broken bulbs and wipers will be replaced free of charge on-site.
Additionally, vehicles requiring paid maintenance will be guided to local repair shops where they can receive affordable service.
The free car inspection service has been held annually with enthusiastic interest and response from residents, with a total of 241 vehicles inspected last year.
