Jangsu-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 4th that it will hold the 'Jangsu Hanwoo Evaluation Contest' to vividly showcase the excellence of Jangsu Hanwoo at the '18th Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival (RED FOOD FESTIVAL)' held over four days from the 5th to the 8th.

According to Jangsu-gun, this year's evaluation contest will be held near Nonggae Shrine on the third day of the festival, the 7th. This event has been held since the early days of the 'Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival.' High-quality Jangsu Hanwoo will be exhibited. The event will be held in a variety of ways, including the Jangsu Hanwoo Promotion Hall, voting for the Best Jangsu Hanwoo Popularity Award, prize draws, and various performances.

This event evaluates the breeding performance of Hanwoo cattle raised in Jangsu-gun and selects outstanding individuals. It is divided into four categories: pregnant cows, non-pregnant cows, male calves, and female calves. A total prize of 11.2 million KRW will be awarded to eight selected farms.

Choi Hoon-sik, the governor of Jangsu-gun, said, "This evaluation contest was promoted to discover the excellent bloodlines of Jangsu Hanwoo and to boost the morale of Hanwoo farmers," adding, "We will continue to systematically foster the Jangsu Hanwoo industry so that the price of Jangsu Hanwoo becomes the best in Korea."
